Receiving a damaged package with crushed corners and dents on all sides does not leave one reassured that the contents inside are in good condition. More than likely, they are damaged as well. IPS cornerboard protects against transport damage and assures that despite harsh shipping and handling, merchandise will arrive in top condition! Using cornerboard in congruence with stretch wrap strengthens packages in a multitude of ways.
- Damaged merchandise
- Visually crushed packages upon arrival
- Unitizing cornerboard with stretch wrap
- Decreased product damage
- Packages were visually acceptable/no damage
Cornerboard protects corners of pallet loads and merchandise from lateral collisions. Unitizing with cornerboard and stretch wrap also helps prevent product damage from the shock of sudden vehicle jolts, stops, or vibrations during transportation. Another common use for cornerboard is to help increase the stacking strength of packages. By placing cornerboard inside the corners of palletized loads and corrugated cartons, products are much more protected from forklift punctures. Not only is cornerboard ideal for protecting against the majority of transport hazards, but it is not influenced or distressed by extreme temperature changes.
Whether the weather is extremely hot, cold, or humid, cornerboard is not affected. Because of its ability to withstand inclement weather and humid air, cornerboard is an excellent substitute for plastic edge protectors. Typically, a humid environment will deprive corrugated containers of a large percentage of their stacking strength. When using cornerboard, temperature and humidity do not need to be a consideration.
