Case Study Snapshot: Pink PE Foam Pouches

Logic Packaging switched the customer to a better, more reliable packaging solution, saving in material costs and labor.

Sensitive automotive parts were being placed in a 4 mil pink anti-stat (PAS) poly bag to protect against electrical damage. The poly bag was then taped closed to secure the parts in the bag. Next parts were being wrapped in 1/8” PE foam or corrugated to protect against physical damage. Then a second piece of tape secured the PE foam or corrugated to PAS bag. From here it can finally make it to bulk packing.

Now the sensitive automotive parts are being packed into a (PAS) foam pouch. This pouch not only protects the electronic aspect of the parts but also provides the physical protection needed with less work than the previous packaging. Once the part is placed in the (PSA) foam pouch workers simply have to put a piece of tape across the top of the bag to seal it before it goes straight to the bulk pack saving extra time and materials all while speeding up the process.

  • Better physical protection of products
  • Savings in packaging materials needed to complete the process
  • Better efficiency in packaging process, saving time

Total Packaging Cost Summary:

  • 18% material cost savings
  • 50% labor savings
  • 50% increase throughput
